CAMBODIA!!!

With only minor ups and downs (i.e. a few pieces of luggage merrily winging off to Tampa instead of Taipei, Kevin dilly-dallying at the Little Kitty Store in Taipei) -  we have successfully, no, Triumphantly made it to the Phnom Penh hotel with 11 people, 21 bags, and an absurd amount of carry-ons and accessories!! We are all pretty much brain-dead at this point, but after a couple of cocktails in the hotel lounge, we revived enough to eat a little dinner and retreat to our respective rooms to try to negotiate the internet, play with our newly-distributed Nokia cell phones, figure out which adapters to use without burning down the room, etc.  Marilyn, who brought a fine ultrasound machine to help better diagnose uterine/cervical masses, decided to try (in her room)  plugging it in via some bizarre series of adapters/converters/surge protectors. Needless to say within moments there was "POOF" no power in her room and little tendrils of smoke spiraling out of her 'test'sockets..... Happily no actual flames ensued, the machine still works, and we haven't been kicked out of the hotel yet!.

Got to be at the clinic at 7am to start screening patients so I'm leaving for now to get a couple of hours of sleep...SO EXCITED TO BE HERE!!!!
